Do you need creative images of your product but don’t have
physical samples? Set Visions CGI is the answer.
One of our long standing CGI clients recently challenged our
Pix department to create striking concept renders that sit within their brand
guidelines.
The product designs have very precise technical
specifications which our 3D modelling team were able to recreate perfectly in
CGI. In this case physical samples of the product were unavailable so the team modelled
from technical drawings and used specific fabrics from our vast library.
Another benefit of CGI for this project is the ability to
update a fabric or finish with the click of a button, allowing us to create numerous
iterations without the added expense of manufacture and shipping.
The images support Bluespot’s Seating Collection targeted
marketing campaign and are successfully being used across print and media
platforms.

A recent technical
challenge was set to our CG department…Can we demonstrate the feasibility of
showcasing a frozen ice lolly product in a variety of images? Traditional
photography methods would have meant placing the frozen lolly in direct
lighting for extended periods leaving a frustratingly narrow window for
capturing the shot before the product had to be replaced.
The idea of using
Pix CGI meant our unparalleled photorealism would allow the client to show the
construction and quality of the product whilst keeping the image looking
refreshing and appetising. The ability to deconstruct and re construct
the product could simply not be done without the use of CGI.
After a delicious study of the behaviour of the ice
lolly…the surface, reflection, lighting reaction we recreate the materials in
layers, addressing each physical aspect of the reference based on direct
observation. We digitally sculpted the finished result with the lighting and
art direction integral to the feel of a shot, allowing us to create a striking
editorial image. The beauty of CGI is allowing us push and develop aesthetics
for a strong campaign.

Set visions PIX CGI department have certainly been busy over the last few months producing everything to deliver the iDesign Tile Visualiser. The PIX department have been painstakingly and meticulously producing the thousands of textures and sets needed to deliver the photorealistic final product.3D has definitely taken off over the last few years but it wouldn't be where it is today without the backing of our skilled photographers who not only photograph the textures but also help light the CG sets.
